The enterprise was founded in 1893 in the hamlet "St Benoît" situated near Vienne (38200) 30 miles south of Lyon.
From year to year, the farm has specialized more and more in the production of fruits and mainly in the Williams variety of pear.
In 1985, because of the town development, Jean-Louis and his wife Thérèse moved to Seyssuel where they concentrated not only on apples and pears but also on the seasonal fruits such as strawberries, sherries, peaches and apricots in order to sell them on local markets.
They also decided to produce the liquors from the poire Williams (eau de vie) and other fruit juices.
In 1998, their elder son Jérôme settled and also started to produce fruits and cereals
The production increased so much that they had to invest in a much bigger cool chamber and a new fruit gauge.
In 2005, Nicolas the second son decided to work with his family.
In April 2008, the two brothers founded the "OGIER FRUITS" Cie.
Today, their fields, orchards and wineyards are situated in the villages of Simandres, Serpaize, Communay, Chuzelles, Seyssuel, Vienne and even in Pont St Esprit in the Gard.
